Yes. What is meant to be a 'non-mainstream weapon' is more along the line of bricks, roof plates, lotus plant and maybe a car. Take this thread to understand the inspiration behind this category https://forum.novelupdates.com/threads/almighty-brick.3141/Is a riot grenade launcher (that launches rubber grenade and tear gas) a conventional weapon?
No. Ai-chan thinks the only way the mc can be a weapon is if he clones himself and uses his living clones as a bludgeoning weapon like a mace. But using people as a bludgeoning weapon is quite commonly used in anime by now.Okay does the mc being the weapon count
Yes, and I can google translate. How do I prove that I got the artist's permission? Do I have to screencap the dms and send it to you? How do you verify it? Because the artist in question doesn't speak English.
Yeamagic musical instrument like for example
Considering I've already given answers on the question before and now it's too late to clarify in case people has already written stories based on my answers previously. No, according to the contest's rule: As long your mainstream weapon involves a gun or firearm, it's not considered unconventional.
Rather than magic, why not call it Esper / Psychic power since the story will be set in Sci-Fi setting with space explorations?
I think we all should re-define what is considered conventional mainstream weapons that are prohibited in a Sci-Fi space world.
As far as I know are recognized as mainstream or standby weaponry elements:
Axe
Sword
Bow
Gun
Fist
Spear
Others: ?
----------
Are we talking about how a weapon resemble and function like one, or just happen to fall in the category?
Is it Pre-modern, martial art, or medieval categories of weapons? Please re-clarify.

I am getting a little confused because the restrictions are........ somewhat fuzzy in a way?
You can follow these two points to make the story more interesting.1. Not used in wars (real or fictional) - which means guns and swords are out
2. Not used in duels (real or fictional) - considering that there's a real duelling manual for scythes, that makes it mainstream
Main character restriction. So while I know we've been beating the whole "non mainstream weapons" thing to death since the start, but I do have another question regarding that. When it comes to that restriction, does it only apply to the main protagonist (for example, Naofumi in The Rising of the Shield Hero can only use shields, but he has Raphtalia who can actually damage things using a sword) or is it a hard restriction for every character using a weapon in universe, even the low tier cannon fodder?
But there are already stories listed in the contest that use stolen cover, claiming they will change the cover later, yet it's approved? Granted, Ai-chan only found one and only by accident, but were you aware of this? Or is it because you just don't have time to check yet?More specific violations that attempt to undermine the spirit of the competition will be left to my discretion. For example, using a stolen cover for the duration of the contest as clickbait to gain more readers, and then switching to a non-stolen cover on the final day.
I think it's the lack of time, as some stories violated the rule of not being posted before the 10th of July. But there are already stories listed in the contest that use stolen cover, claiming they will change the cover later, yet it's approved? I've already contacted them yesterday, and they've responded today. There was one story that was posted on the 9th but the author contacted me before entering and considering the circumstance, I let it slide.I think it's the lack of time, as some stories violated the rule of not being posted before the 10th of July.
No the mc is literally a weapon, and he makes other people use him as oneYes. What is meant to be a 'non-mainstream weapon' is more along the line of bricks, roof plates, lotus plant and maybe a car. Be creative. Go outside, look at the sky, look at the ground and look at some hot chicks. There must be an unconventional weapon somewhere there.

If the story is newish I would say yesJust a quick question, I just posted an entry but I am feeling like I want to delete it and rework the story premise, and resubmit it under the same name. Is that allowed?
You can just delete the chapter and post a new chapter. But yeah, that's fine.Just a quick question, I just posted an entry but I am feeling like I want to delete it and rework the story premise, and resubmit it under the same name. Is that allowed?
If the story operate with that as the main way of attacking then yes.Is malware a weapon?
Yes.Are strings allowed as Unique choice of weapons?
Exploring the world that is space. Doesn't have to be new canonically in the story .By exploring space, can it be understood sci-fi travelling in places the characters are familiar with already? Or must it be "exploring" exploring?
Do claws and fangs count as unconventional weapons for halfbreed mc?View attachment 8563
