So Microsoft just bought Bethesda for 7.5 bn

And that means the acquisition of the Elder Scrolls franchise

And Skyrim is part of the Elder Scrolls franchise

In one way or another, Microsoft paid 7.5 bn just to get Skyrim in their pockets

I can't believe it

Just when you thought he couldn't sell another version of Skyrim

Who's gonna stop the mad man?

Who?!

WHO?!

So I'm not entirely up to speed on this. Does Microsoft buying Bethesda mean ES6 will come sooner or later than "Bethesda-sometime"??

After the bore that is the Outer Worlds, I'm not so confident that Obsidian can capture lightning in a bottle anymore.
A lot of the old Obsidian staff went to inXile, which Microsoft also owns. While it won't be Obsidian producing it, a New Vegas 2 made by the same people is still well within the realm of possibility.

Unironically speaking, id rather they make a new game than to follow up new Vegas. To me, that was a major note in RPG history that really belonged in its own time. Going at it with the same name and setting just seems like a rethread to cash in on nostalgia.
