Too much Ideas?

So I've been having a problem(don't know if other people have this too) and that is- I'm getting too many ideas.

Like I always have new ideas but the current novel I'm working on doesn't fit well with those Ideas, but when I'm thinking of Ideas on what to write on my current novel it always ends up blank.

also another thing that I think is effecting it is this, I don't know why but my mindset? personality? I don't know what to call it but it always keeps changing everyday, like for example: one day I have a mindset of writing a Lazy Mc but the next day I have a mindset the wants to write a hardworking Mc and then the next day after that I want to write a cold/indifferent Mc etc.

Is this also a problem you guys have or am I just dumb?

It happens, what I can advise is writing out your ideas in a plan. Then either adjust or eliminate as you go along. The final set will be the bulk in which makes it into the story. I have countless ideas myself, but part of the process is staying focused on one story until it is completely done with. Some of those other ideas might make it into the work with some other adjustments. So for now, try and write it out in a plan, and adjust or eliminate as you think of more. It will at least help in organization.

That is normal, this is why I write a bunch of mini-series that I never publish to get all the crazy ideas out to prevent them from leaking into the main story. Since I don't have to worry about plot or consistency or editing I just get all my frustrations out for that day and move on.

Thats basically me in a nutshell.

One moment I'm writing a normal yandere story, to an intergalatic war with different yandere whose after a gay dude whom has feelings for his female childhood friend thats actually a guy in his past life but gets killed by a dude who was a girl in her old life that wanted to get away from an otome story, turned cultivation as a hero who has a RPG system tries to interfere with that story as it could potentially turned into a battle royal of sexy muscle men....

I might had snorted some sugar while writing this but I swear i just wanted to write a simple love story of a boy and a girl who wanted to get married thats it and not the former idea.

I'm doing that actually, it's called Crazy ideas which is just me writing Ideas for other people to see, but that will probably be approved tomorrow.

thanks for the reply!

I will also try this, as I was just going with the flow before and don't know where to take it.

Thanks for the reply m8!

It's the main cause of me writing a number of drafts for 'short' stories... T^T

Give him multiple personality disorder. Or have different souls reside in his body. See? Easy.

Gotta think outside the box

I have a folder named plots; be it short or long all my ideas live there in outline form, random conversations etc.

I would recommend having an idea of how your current story will end, be the arc ending or the whole story ending.

That way you can keep the ideas within it contained.

I love it when that happens. When it does, I think about all the branching possibilities for a while until the one I like best settles into place.

Shit... that's actually a pretty good idea!
Expect nothing less from me, ever. Done right you can even make it a very important aspect to the story too. For example, his personality of that day which is in control are random.

Like imagine he's a Noble and his territory is being attacked.

"Oh no these bandits are swarming us! What do we do?!"
"Someone call the Young Lord, he can surely think of a way to beat these scoundrels!"
Cuz he has proven to be a military genius or whatever previously. But guess which personality is in charge today? Thats right. The lazy cunt personality. So maybe he can still think of a way to beat them, but he is such a lazy cunt he can't be bothered. Lol.

Basically something important goes on that requires one personality, and instead the personality in control today is one that makes things more difficult. Itd be a good way to provide some conflict. You can cause glorious misunderstandings, too. Cuz what if one personality is a playboy? And most people dont know his condition, so the playboy goes out and starts seducing young maidens and widows amd his other personalities get in trouble later on from that. Haha. Man thatd be funny.

Anyway. Lot you could do with this idea

Considering what you write in your novel, I did a considerate job I guess?
I was going to say, "pfft its not that bad" then i remembered the whole '"oh lets unleash a giant tentacle monster onto a mercenary village and let it kill and molest everyone" idea the MC followed through on.

Ye. Considering I pretty tamed my thoughts even thought I got crazy ideas without going onto a sexual thought. Its kinda been a great progress stopping myself or I would have created one crazy novel that it might do self-harm rather than a masterpiece. The last time I got one crazy novel idea, I remembered an anime called 'Blood C+' I think and about using humans as a blood juicer and uhh.....

........ *Throws up*

Uhh.... Yeah. I made one in my notebook and my family kinda saw what I wrote and they sent me to a church to get exorcised.

Same. Except it isn't the mc, but its me. One day I feel motivated to do something productive, but end up not doing it. Then other days are just me not feeling motivated by it, even if its something that should be one of my priorities to do.

Yeah I have many ideas I still haven't really written out yet. I still have a bottle of all those scribble notes somewhere...

Some of those ideas I think I probably won't get around to writing them. So then I dump them onto Writing Prompts app by Bew.

And I am planning to put it into a notebook someday soon. Those ideas so I don't forget them and can get at least the basic idea of the story that I wanted to write about if I ever do decide pick it up, even if its been awhile.
