It’s funny you say this because horror actually works the complete opposite. The more information you give people, the less scary it is. The scariest things are typically the less realistic versions because you have less information to work with. What humans are truly afraid of are the things they don’t understand. The more information provided to them the greater their understanding and thus the less scary it becomes.Imagine in ten years where graphics like this becomes the standard, and VR picks this up. But what if you purposefully use the contrast between realism and a strange low-quality glitch-in-reality abhorrent entity? Also things like the backrooms could be done pretty well, and atmospheric horror like that. I still think there's plenty of potential in ultrarealistic horror just as there is in the many pixelated VHS style ones that show up a lot. People will always find a way to make really good games for both sides of the spectrum, and I'm excited for that, even if I wouldn't be the person playing it myself. It’s funny you say this because horror actually works the complete opposite. This is why you get scary videos being recorded on potatoes. It’s because the human mind fills in the gaps and interprets it as the worst case scenario. If it’s easy to make out what it is the human mind has to work less. Very often what’s in your head is far scarier than whatever you’re seeing in reality.

creating somethng entiely new and fantastical is where it will shine, but as fo horror....people can already just take and edit in really realistic horror elements or creatures. So this one in particular isnt anything special, it will just give the genre new wings. when creating new environments,Imagine in ten years where graphics like this becomes the standard, and VR picks this up.
