When you eat too much you are full.

But what do you call it when you have read too much. What happens when you read through the 20 most recent stories in the slush pile of "latest series" and just can't anymore? What word do you use when you are brain dead and can, not, read, another, word.

Burnt out?

Yes, I have frequently heard this term used.

Burnt out seems to be the general term for any form of overuse of the brain. The same term also applies to working so hard you pile up mental stress. Anyway, this is the correct term.

The phrase would be "I'm burnt out on reading." It would indicate you've fried all the reading neuron's in your brain and you just can't anymore.

I usually say my bucket is full. I'm sure German has a word for it though.
