Just wanted to share the various webnovel covers I've made over the years. Some were intended for (an are actually being used) real webnovels, and some are just dumb jokes. A couple are posters. In no particular order:
This is a joke cover I made to poke fun at the Generic Cultivation Novel, as I call them. The Qidian logo in the corner was just one I had handy, I wasn't trying to poke fun at them, actually. There are Generic Cultivation Novels on all webnovel sites.
This is the sequel to Generic Cultivation Novel. The title a reference to True Martial World, though the taglines could refer to any number of generic eastern fantasy novels. Title font is Painting With Chocolate, iirc.
TMR cover I did for the finale. Originally this was a poster that had "Finale" on it. Title and author text is handwritten (by me).
Concept cover I did for Supernatural Girlfriend. Not an official cover.
This one is a dumb joke cover. That horse's face, lol. I was browsing Huaban for artwork and came across this and that horse's face gave me the idea.
I did this TGR cover for fun and gave it to Thyearia, who used it for the official English cover (WW translators have to provide and pay for their own English covers themselves if they want one). Though for the WW cover I added "Wuxiaworld" to the bottom in case aggregators grabbed it. In the original artwork, which I think I found on Huaban, the dude has black hair. I changed it to blue because that's the one thing I knew about the novel's MC.
ROS cover I made for etvo to celebrate 200 chapters. I was just trying for a completely different style here. Font I think might be Marvin Visions, can't remember exactly. The flowers I found on Huaban, as usual.
For this one I was just trying to get as close to the original cover on iReader as I could. I think it's pretty close.
First ROS cover I made. I was never happy with the font choice here, but I never went back and tried something different. Artwork was the same 17k used on a banner ad for the novel on their site. A lot of the artwork you see on webnovel covers can be found on Huaban or Dutang, which are Chinese sites similar to Pinterest.
This one is just some silliness I did for my friends over at Chaleuria. Went through many variations with title cover, but I live the silver the best. A gold version also exists. Just a joke cover. Used the same font for the title as the There Will Be Blood movie poster.
The latest cover I have made. Really happy with how this came out. They chose to use this for the official volare English cover. Artwork is the same as on 17k's site. I added a yellow filter over it to make the background look more "dreamy". Really happy with the title font, which I can't remember at the moment. Gold pattern overlay on the font to make it actually look like gold. This is the spiritual successor to TMR. Food porn novel, lol.
English cover I made for Ruyi's completed translation of Falling Dreams of Fang Hua. Artwork is the same as on the original Chinese cover.
Cover I made for fun for what was supposed to be Hyorinmaru's new translation after Martial World finished. But some failed communication between Wuxiaworld and Tapread (owned by Zongheng) led to this one being cancelled on WW since Tapread was already translating it. Same art as on Zongheng's Chinese site. I was just trying for a duplicate.
Joke novel cover. Artwork inspired the title.
Another joke cover. Artwork is by Ibuki Satsuki, one of my favorite artists. Her ancient Chinese artwork is amazing. Just wanted to do a transmigration novel cover.
I'm probably most satisfied with this one. I like the way the title came out. Was trying for a copy of the Chinese original, close as I could get. This one is coming back on volare. A translator has already been found. Old chapters are being edited, so not sure when it will re-debut.
UPX cover I did for fun, just trying to match the original is best I could.
Fake movie poster. Artwork by Ibuki Satsuki. I have no idea the original context of this art, but when I saw it I thought of John Wick and came up with this idea.
Joke ROS cover I made for etvo. Background art by Ibuki Satsuki.
Practice DCF cover, same art as on iReader. Not the official art. Yuuko at volare did the covers for the ebook, which had been completely finished since February. Not sure when it will be released.
