For me personally, I don't like smut. I just cannot stand it. Seriously, I'll probably never put any smut like thing in my writing, no matter how odd it may seem to others.

Oh also because I'm 15 too, doesn't make sense for a 15 year old to write 18+ stuff.

(Btw, I'm not saying that genre is bad. I just don't like it, that is all. Please remember to not call any specific genre inherently bad.)

Once you grow up, you will see the life of smut and it will change your views! *Kidding!* :blob_melt:

I don't like harems. Why? Because it doesn't usually work outright. And I am a hopeless romantic. I mean, a harem can be done right. The manga Yona knows how to do it. 1 ML and 1 FL; they love each other. Doesn't matter who else likes them. But these are rare and impossible to find.

NTR I dislike as well. Why? Because it is very degrading for women and men. *Honestly, these people should fall into holes and never come out.* Again, I place this dislike because I am a hopeless romantic. I have been in a relationship for 11 years and don't see the need to cheat or crap like that. Disgusting.~:blobspearpeek: Commit or leave simple.

I don't like stories that glorify monogamy.

Xianxia/Wuxia.
JUNIOR! DO YOU DARE?!
adjective + noun + sect/clan.
Author looks at r*pe, "Is this romance?"
Paragraphs describing how the convoluted mana works differently for the Pink Lotus Clan as compared to the White Heavenly Sword of a Thousand Waterfalls Sect.
It took me a quarter of a incense time to write this.

I think there are some good xuanhuan/xianxia/Wuxia novels, but then, the good ones are all buried under all those cliched stories, like for a female protagonist story: Orphan-who-was-pocked-up-by-a-organization-that-trains-assassins-than-became-the-best-assassin-then-got-betrayed/killed-then-transmigrated-into-cultivation-world-in-body-of-a-trash-girl-with-crappy-relatives-then-got-a-magical-space-then-slapped-relatives-then-met-a-overbearing-powerful-male-lead-then-became-the-most-powerful-cultivator-in-that-world-than-became-a-god

I basically summed almost most cultivation stories with a female lead.

don't forget the:
mc transmigrates > gets beaten up > meets mysterious master > slaps faces > rules the place as the strongest > moves up a realm > becomes the weakest and gets beaten up, needing a new master to slap faces and rule the place. Repeat ad infinitum.

I don't know, what genres do you like?

Now seriously answering everything Xianxia, Smut, Mature which only means Smut but with more text. And above all: I am a daughter, living, adopted from the demon king or the other variation, I am the secretary, servant, slave of the CEO of a very large, multimillionaire company and that for some reason is young, attractive and I'm probably single for some reason. That he could have founded his crypto company but he doesn't seem like a nerd.

Slice-of-life I guess.

I want some action, not to read boring text.

It can be for in-between actions, but I find it hard to stand if it is the entire premise.

check out my story then, it's a cultivation, but very far from "almost most" you described~ in fact I'm pretty sure I avoided or subverted all the tropes common to the genre

(Meanwhile, I wrote my first smut at 12 or 13...)

For me, the worst is sci-fi. I can't stand the obsession with technology and grimdark futures, nor the need to try and make everything sound scientific and rational. The aesthetic is pretty piss poor too.

Fusions with fantasy can be nice if they lean heavily on the fantasy, but otherwise... I'll almost never get around to reading it.

LitRPGs because they all seem to follow the same formula and adds next to nothing in terms uniqueness. Maybe it just might be my experience on this website. So send recommendations my way if you find something that isn't so cut and paste and gives it more of a spin.

most of things i dislike are based on the execution, not the genre. but if there's anything i steer clear off, it's tragedy.

i just want my happy stories, not making me even more depressed, thank you.

can be enjoyable if it makes fun of tragedy and suffering in general though.

the other thing i'm not interested in is the usual horror story that's meant to scare you off. but if it's combined with other aspects like romance or even fluff, it became one of my favorites.

I like erotica (I haven't seen any erotica on here yet), I also like smut, but the smut on here is a bit bad to at least mediocre from what I've read (apart from the BL), and the genre I don't like is porn. :blob_shade:

This may sound wishy-washy, but all genres can be good. Yet, a lot of the more fan servicey genres, where often times characters are treated less as human and more like a Pokémon (i.e. harem, echi, Yaoi/Yuri, etc…), tend to be a chore for me to read. That being said, there are a lot of stories that do write good characters and plots using those genres, and those stories tend to be good. It’s not the genre that I dislike then it’s probably the writing.

Tragedies are better when they are shorter, especially if it is a heavy tragedy. Tragedies are also hard to work with, the more genres you add the less catharsis the reader will probably feel. That’s why when you see tragedies, they usually only have 2-5 genres. Horror, it depends on the medium and the writer, when watching a horror movie, I prefer a more cheesy 80-90’s slasher, when it comes to anime I prefer something like Yami Shibai, manga it’s Junji Ito, and writing its Poe and Lovecraft. Horror does not need to scare me to be good, in fact if that is all it tries to do it becomes quite trite, but it does need to be som that makes me think. For some reason, it is the horror genre that makes me think the most.

NTR and Mecha subgenre. I alsp tend to avoid Sports for some reason although I think those tend to be good usually.

Smut also kinda sucks but it more coz the plot/story in them is non-existent or basically poorly constructed excuses to get the snu-snu going. Ideally it should be like the say, the adult version of Dxd where there is a genuinely good plot outside of the plot.
