Question
What are fitting jobs for a villainess?

Further explanation
The jobs suggested could be for a fantasy world or the modern world. Actually, any kind of world is fine and it doesn't even have to be a for a villainess: even jobs for villains in general would be interesting!

Less important comments, what prompted this for fun question
I was trying to think of a career path for myself that would be more villainous. It never occurred to me before. Shocking! However, I arrived at the answer that I can't think of a villainess-type job/career for myself that I would be proficient in. A villainess type job would be like lawyer, politician, and business, but I'm not really a good fit for those jobs. I more of a science type really. I am also somebody who cannot lie, which has caused me various problems in life. How can I be more villainous with this skill set? Ahhhhh!

well, since you mentioned machine, you could make her job designing robots, or something similar like clones.

Isn't the stereotype evil person an alchemist? You know? Make poisons and the like. Alchemy is also semi-science related and doesn't need much socializing.

A lawyer. That was the optimal job for a villainess without a significantly wealthy starting background.

A lawyer can be a bit cutthroat.
They are undoubtedly competent and well-spoken.
There is a certain level of prestige associated with the job.
The income is conducive to a higher class lifestyle.
Interactions and connections with higher socioeconomic strata become possible.
Their professional attire is quite sharp: they look good.
In my idealized vision of a lawyer I imagine them to be self-reliant lone wolves with great abilities.

Unfortunately, I am a science type who cannot lie or twist the truth. When it comes to essays I can write decently well (only if there are no time limits), but I hate most formal writing with a passion.

Land Owner: You'd be the ruler of your little plot of land. So long as there is at least one renter, they are your subject. Even if it's just storage space being rented, if there's a renter, there's someone who needs to listen to you or risk losing the right to rent.

Edit: Being a manager for someone else's land can also fit, so long as you're given sufficient authority.

Excellent. You have exposed a truth of ordinary villainous life. I did not see land ownership and profitable rentals in that light before.

Thank you for helping me further the depth of my everyday villainy.

Making robots that mess with the "heroine."

To think, I, a science type, did not even consider mad science. Toeing the line of ethics and legality. Something villainous and sciency. Good thinking.

i think, if i were a villainess, I just want to be a NEET.

just mooch off the heroine while i spread my legs for her in bed every night.

So, an escort.

I like the first part. It brings up the question, "Is there a low effort form of villainy that would be appropriate and profitable?" Other than land ownership, which was an excellent suggestion.

anything, as long as a 75% majority disagrees with whatever you do. think back to Resident Evil 4. according to the villagers, YOU ARE the VILLAIN, foiling their peace with the president's daughter and the cult. as long as it contradicts the philosophy of whoever it is you're opposing, it's a job worthy of villainy. like a cook grill to a vegan, or the manager to a soccer mom.

  • stealth bomber dispatcher: Note that the villainess does not pointlessly expose herself to danger except for dramatic purposes and neither should she spend years and years to learn something when she can command someone else with a signature Ohohohoho!
  • trust fund director: The melon that is wrenched is not as sweet as taking it from those that truly trusted the villainess. Like taking candy from a baby.
  • rest & recreation: When not doing r&d, the villainess needs her vacations to incubate and brainstorm. Remember! Failing to plan is planning to fail.
  • burger flipping is an art. Practice makes perfect. When the villainess finally needs to flip the table, it will be so elegantly violent that it would seem she had done it thousands of times before.
  • sugar coating: Sugar mommies and sugar daddies are alternative sources of funds, but this skill allows her to lay on the down low, when the time is not yet ripe to have her revenge on the jedi heroines and their nasty mind tricks.

So, an escort.

No no, the protagonist is the escort 😇

How about home maker? Housework is work. Her husband makes the money and thinks she's being a good housewife, but she either does the bare minimum upkeep or blackmails someone else into doing the housework while she is out causing trouble. The blackmailed slave sleeps on the floor of their walk-in pantry, and the husband never finds out until one day, he can't sleep and gets up for a midnight snack, and BAM!

A banker, specifically a fantasy world equivalent of a medieval Jewish banker.

They were viewed as loan sharks and if they were also a Jew, they would be even more hated.

Farmer.

Hear me out: She who controls the farms, controls the kingdoms.

A influential merchant also works, maybe even better. Lots of power in money

Having a job, by it's very nature, does things to a person that will get rid of the traits typical of a villainess character. So, my 2 cents says "no job, she's a wealthy heiress."

I'm already a VILLIAN, but villains need jobs too ... sometimes. :blobrofl:
