German, Italian & Spanish doesn't count since I've forgotten them since uni days lol

... and that's about all. I am attempting to learn Malay but it's through various language learning apps and wouldn't say I'm any good at it yet.

Being exposed to various cultures in my upbringing. I'll scale my understanding from 1 (Poor understanding) through 10 (Excellent understanding)

- English (Main)
Read: 8 Write: 8 Speak: 6 (Not good at conversations, in person. I'm introverted)

- Japanese (Learned in School)
Read: 6 Write: 4 Speak: 5 (Hirigana & Katakana are decent, Not too good with Kanji)

- Filipino [Tagalog](Parents language)
Read: 5 Write: 2 Speak: 3 (My parents wanted me to be more Americanized, said if I wanted to learn. I should just learn by listening to them....)

- Hawaiian (Learned in School)
Read: 5 Write: 3 Speak: 4 (Hawaiian Studies were required, from Elementary - Middle school, optional in High school)

I have a somewhat understanding of these 4, mainly because I actively had an interest in them.
-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-
I've been exposed to other languages growing up, but I guess I didn't pursue to learn them at the time.

I was talking online with someone and they said they could speak seven languages. I thought that was rather fascinating, and possibly confusing in the head sometimes. So I thought I'd ask how many languages people on Scribbly can speak.

I can speak/write fluently in two languages: English and Spanish.

I'm hoping to learn a third via osmosis method of just hearing it in everyday life.... Maori.
Ai-chan can speak English, Japanese, Mandarin, and Malay. Ai-chan did try to learn Cantonese, but it was very hard that Ai-chan gave up after being laughed at by my ex girlfriend (who taught Ai-chan Cantonese) every single time.

Ai-chan is also quite fluent in Hymmnos.

I know basic sentence structure and some words. I'm just learning this as a hobby to read webtoons.

One, deafness + autism doenst really help with speaking languages. Even with hearing aid it is still hard to listen to conversations in other languages.
I’m half deaf so I kinda relate. But thanks to Arabic I can differentiate the different sounds. Especially since those sounds aren’t in English and I’m learn Japanese. I say it’s easier learning to speak it.
Also have you had any luck reading lips?
I have a few times. I’ve been trying to read ppl’s lips lately.
