So I'm planning to do a new cover. In a panic, I made two.

Which one should I pick?

Not Stand:

I know both equally sucks, I just want to know which one sucks the least.

Bigger question I have is why do you need to make the character stand/crouch?

Picking the stand position is playing safe, pretty standard/normal if you ask me. Though from I what can gleam from your works, they are action type so taking crouch makes a reader ask, "da heck is dat guy doin?", then they see you're work and say, "ohh he be tookin stance".

Second one looks better, just have to add a bit of shading to indicate sitting as to not make him look like he's crouching as sky has mentioned.

not stand looks derpy. but in first pic the background is too zoomed out you can't make out it's the shadow.
But not stand is derpy

I might be weird for looking too much into it; just my opinion but from his action: {the act of pulling on his jacket} makes it look kinda weird while he’s sitting. It makes sense to adjust the jacket with a fully extended arm while standing, but not sitting down. It just looks uncomfortable to me.
