There are a few stories like that. There's a manga called ouken (I think, something starting with an o) that has women taking on all the manual labor and leadership roles due to a disease that killed off most of the male population.
Goblin Kingdom (Fairly self-explanatory)
Pros:
- Side characters get a lot of depth and attention
- MC isn't overpowered and fights alongside his subordinates
- Actual strategy and tactics are used in battles
Cons:
- There are a lot of characters (at least a dozen with similar-sounding names)...
I've legit never written a one shot before but I'll try.
Oh, can I expand on my entry later? I have an old story I could possibly make a one shot but I'm not sure yet. Then again, I have dozens of stories like that.
You could use the word 'Rex' which is latin for king or ruler. Maybe use the environment as a template. Like, if the school is on a mountain, you could call it Rex Monte (King of the mountain)
Oh hey, I got included in this. How nice~
My BL history started with the Gravitation manga and grew from there. My recent obsession with Chinese BL either started with the Founder of demonic cultivation or Transmigrating into a Mob Character to Rehabilitate the Villain Plan. I honestly can't...
There's 'Stone age Husband Raising Journal'. It has transmigration but honestly, that isn't really a main factor in the story. It's light in spice (at least here I am) but it's a fun ride. There's also 'Spirit hotel'. It's a modern(ish) fantasy but no cultivation or the like. It's also really funny.
I'd suggest Goblin Kingdom. It's a pretty cool novel and has a lot of chapters out already. The characters, all of them, are fun to read about and the transition from the lowly tribe of goblins to a fully realized kingdom is well done in my opinion.
Summary:
With a hideous visage they came to...
I'd stop editing if afterward, my page is blank.
In all seriousness, I just write what's on my mind and correct any misspelling or errors after I'm done. I don't bother adding or removing stuff cause it might disrupt the flow of the narrative. I trust my first try and just smooth the edges a bit.
You could try Goblin Kingdom, it's super coolio. It features goblins (obviously) with an awesome protag that has actual flaws, so he's not super OP. Not sure about romance but where I am, he has only one love interest.

I got that too but I didn't think much of it. Honestly, I forgot about it until now. Weirdly enough though, despite getting the message a few days ago, it's now gone from my inbox. Not sure why.
