I just think that system is a lazy way of writing, a crutch. Anything a system can do, can be done better by using other things. For example, a lot of systems are used as cheats or undisguised plot armor. Why not give your MC a cheat ability, a cheat item, a cheat something instead of a system. It would give at least some sort of individuality to your work.

Also, the market is oversaturated with low quality system novels. People tends to write them because they are popular and don't bother writing anything else. It kills creativity.
