What?

It is called having a chip on your shoulder. It personally doesn't motivate me, but I know people who are motivated by hate.

Long story short, if it's a stranger or a random reader/watcher on the Internet, I will most probably like their praise of my work. But if it's a close person, like a parent or friend, I don't want them to tell me that I'm good at something - I want them to tell me that I suck, because that's what I have to tell myself in order to try to be better :/

If close people motivate me by saying good things, it works in the opposite direction, and also makes me sad

I won't question your masochist tendencies. Instead, I will offer motivation. "You suck." Now go write your story.
