In fact my big wish, would be to see
a chinese MC being like:
= MC eat in restaurant, arrogant young master come and ask the table, threaten cliche, MC without a care pull out a gun, then kill him in public, than random people appear to clean it up, and MC get out after eating

But as CCP censor. I know this wish is impossible (with a chinese MC)
(unless probably go to crazy english fanfics like wattpad or AO3)

That is why despite no killing, my top1 fav is this series.

No random arrogance (stripping naked or superiority against innocents)
No random big goal (get 500billions)
No random global plot or becoming number1 (control the world or becoming richest, or earth leader)

Just "living life"
but without restraints BUT realisticly normal

The most important point, that is quite important.

is the fact
MC got a "poisonous tongue"

A bad woman ? Insult her
A arrogant star ? Insult him (and make dog pee on his face)
Arrogant old men ? Insult them until puke blood
Arrogant rich man ? Not caring !

THIS. is 2nd big factor of its charm. Just like hidden face of the moon

That's really cool. Chill stories without soap opera crap

Especially chinese WNs at that time, or isekai-boom period
unlike now you see more "retired to country side" stories being adapted

(i have read translation of KUMA KUMA KUMA BEAR jp-wn 4 fcking times, bc of how rare it was to find a good "relax" story)

Chinese urban WN years ago :

MC got power or cultivator ?
BAM 5ch later, hidden society
MC got a cheat ?
BAM mc want to get rich / top rich man

Every s.i.n.g.l.e time
and every time, annoying conflicts or "cant see mount tai" enemies

I expected WN industry to get better years later
My wish was half realized by monkey paw

There are more golden gems. But most are copypastes.

I near begin to miss the retarded young masters series to be honest.
Sure they were annoying as f, but at least originality/powers were high

Now just like jp, lot of authors try to get popular
by doing the "popular cliches"

examples few ones :
JP : expulsed from hero party/salary man pick farm cheat in isekai but turn out mega op
CH : awaken SSS power in graduation awakening but everyone think its trash/i am a villain/system "get rewards by marrying and descendants"

There are some good new cliches though

-i am a lawyer and send the judge in
-draft competition (trying to lose/sing old songs/make spectators laugh by a fail sad story)
-livestream comparison
-fanfics (especially naruto ones)
-being lowkey cultivator, and out living others in xianxia
-being overly cautious

etc

Luck is biggest cheat of them all
bc it is plot armor itself
(proved in deadpool movie, but not enough showcasing and not powerful enough to be honest)

Gun ? No fear, bc 100% jam
1 probability of 583585? 100% win
Assassins? Would die in accident

That is also why the series [The luckiest man] that fusioned CH,KR,JP styles
were quick a success
(though it had some "nationalism" moments)

Another thing of [Wear lucky charm]
is the fact, the cheat is ORIGINAL by relying on "the daily item"
causing funny plots
(and also a weakness if MC dont wake-up at 9am to pick it)

I think luck superpowers can be cool, but the author and chars have to acknowledge it. It's super annoying when the MC's successes are always 100% due to his luck powers, but everyone acknowledges them as a tactical genius for some reason and praises their "skils" which are actually just OP luck.

I mean. Who in right mind would "pick a puppy doggo" as sole item to bring to deserted island? XD
Or wearing megaphone all day long ?

Its this kind of "total freedom" style of writing AND TALENTED ENJOYABLE, that makes this series a masterpiece in my mind.

If you wanna make a character win just because they're very lucky, then admit it! If you just admit it's all about luck, you have more freedom to do stuff with luck powers and make a more fun story instead of constantly trying to hide them with excuses. I see a lot of WN authors shy away from this sort of stuff because they're obsessed with writing grimdark and "being taken seriously".

Meanwhile, in this series
some people know that MC got some kind of "op luck"

in particular the "FL" (romance isnt very focused but she appear early)
FL
as a daughter of casino owner (and ex gambler king)
and mathematical genius
early on often have her "common sense" view being broken multiple times. Bc probabilities doesnt lie, but the actions of MC defy logic.

This novel

is also one of the mega rare novel
where a "chinese villain" (half villain spoiler)

is the closest to EVER find out the "cheat" of a chinese MC
like 1cm close kind of close

This villain is half villain, bc he is both fan and hater
Fan bc of MC poetry
but hate, bc of "poisonous language" that "blasphem the poems he do", irking him as a clean-OCD person
And doesn't really want to harm MC

Sure, there are lot of comics or cartoons that exposed them to the public
but before that, "how to write a story where true identity is exposed AND CONTINUATION" was problematic or too brainstorming

In similar ways, lot of old CH novel masterpieces
where MC somehow offend op dude early on
is just "lack of ideas"

Because "drama" is easier shortcut. Compared to finding "how to write enjoyable plot without MC offending anyone"
