I try to eat them so that every kind of candy has a nearly equal amount.

Depends on the candy. Usually I don't care much, though if they have distinct flavors, I often leave those I like the most for later.

I don't sort but I will generally only eat the same color or close color/flavor ones at the same time (thinking skittles here).

You made me remember that I ran out of colorful candies.
