Did you tell that reader you're taking a break?

Yeah, kinda, but I just lied that I will come back to 'April 13' since there was also another activity that I was suddenly informed out of the blue... and there were a lot of programming projects to deal with.

Ah, well, speaking from experience, if you're going to take a break, don't give a definite time. If you fail it, your readers will have the impression that you left, when in reality, you might've forgot or needed more time to rest.

Or, if you did give time, do an announcement on that date saying you'll need more time. Most cases, your readers will understand. If they don't, you don't need them.
