I wanted to try something new. I'll tell you something that I like about my novel, and you tell me something that you like about yours. Share and Tell

Great name! Sounds very exciting. Under the assumption that readers are interested enough to find them, I'm most excited about all the little details that seem like throwaways but are going to eventually be super helpful in understanding some of the lore. I don't make them my focus, but know...

You would be suprised how low my standards are. I spent a summer as a kid writing a Marceline/Edward Cullen fanfic. Envy, if anything, this has made me want to read your stuff more.

10K Views, what I have learned.

    Very informative, thank you!

10K Views, what I have learned.

My chapters range from 2.5k-3.5k and occasionally are a bit longer. Sounds like adding a release is the way to go.

10K Views, what I have learned.

10-4, Thank you! Do frequency of uploads effect anything? I've been working towards adding a third release per week for awhile now.

10K Views, what I have learned.

Most of my readers are from the U.S. As far as figuring out what time is best, I'm not sure what to do there other than release a different times and stick with what works. I see, thanks for the advice! Also, vampires are literally my favorite thing in fiction so I plan on checking out your...

Thanks so much! I have had a pretty good time here so far. I found the tutorial before I ever published here and is 100% the reason I have not made a series of fatal errors. It was huge in helping me understand things early on.

10K Views, what I have learned.

If your anything like me and spend entirely too much time and finger stamina refreshing your page to see number get bigger, you will understand my excitement at watching my views go from four numbers to five. I wanted to share a couple observations I have made since I began publishing on SH...

Recommendations A protagonist becoming a force of nature.

It takes awhile, but it is where the story is heading. https://www.scribblehub.com/series/1032807/the-near-infinite-names-of-autumn-aubrey/

Recommendations I'm looking for stories with an mc who is 2 persons at the same time

It is kind of an offshoot of the whole two identities, but my MC goes into the memories of others and relives them basically every chapter and wears magical disguises that are powered by her belief that she is the person she is disguised as. Not quite what you are looking for, but it might suit...

    Casual reader feedback

Hope I'm not too late. I've enjoyed reading your critiques and wanted to throw my story into the ring. I'm well into volume/arc/book Two, but read as long as it keeps your interested. Enjoy and thanks for doing this...

Congrats on the old thread, lots of good stuff to mine through! Glad to be a part of this one, hope you get to me! https://www.scribblehub.com/read/1032807-the-near-infinite-names-of-autumn-aubrey/chapter/1032818/

How can I properly retcon something

Could be a simple edit to fix. Could lead to an interesting situation if you decided to keep it. If nothing comes from the revelation, it could be a hint that the character who learned the information has more complex motives, doesn't work for who they say they work for, etc, etc.

    Cool Names

I have a couple from my story that I'm proud of. Azeralphane, Hezbelthorag, and Othilie. Outside of my own work, Sandman Slim and Elodin are two of my favorites.

Name a weakness in your novel

    How Does it Feel?

In a sense, the small interactions I've had with readers about my characters, makes them feel more real to me. It is impossible to view the characters I write and how they come across on the page from outside of myself. I made them, they have purposes that they don't always follow, they surprise...

How would you describe your main protagonist as poorly as possible?

A girl with nearly infinite other girls in her mind.

    Envy: On Concision

All of this is very good advice. The undercurrent of the topic, for me, is knowing when to be concise and when to spend more words and a longer time on things. I often publish chapters feeling like I haven't written enough in the right places and worry my prose will not get the point across...
