Well... bone-chewing aside, thanks for the words of encouragement, everyone. Makes me feel a little more relieved about finishing up this draft and getting first the chapter out. Though to answer SailusGebel's question, the protagonist is female, as is most of the main cast.

I try to go for around 1.2k-2.5k per chapter. When I put my nose to the grindstone that could take about 4 to 8-ish hours. If I'm messing around it takes... considerably longer.

Ankle guards is the proper term I believe, at least for what this specific character is wearing.
