From a non native speaker this perspective is very much understandable but they is singular so while it might sound a bit odd at first, it quickly becomes normal if you start using it frequently.

in my opinion you can't. while you can make the harem in a way that damages the story less, it will always damage a story. this is because a harem simply doesn't function in a story. it damages side characters, character development, the MC and pretty much everything to do with characters.

Depending on your level of horniness, make sure to do as I do and filter out Harem, Romance, Ecchi and other tags like that since this site is about 80% smut.
