So, I've been noticing that after 8 or so views, the counter in my chapters stops counting the views. After like a day, they start back up again and show that 400+ people have read my chapter. The novel I'm talking about here is this novel

https://www.scribblehub.com/read/22...ith-a-smartphone-translation/chapter/234583/#

It is gaining views, as shown in the statistics, but the chapter's view counts only show that 8 people have read it.

Could someone explain to me what is happening?

In order to not cause strain on the servers, the view count isn't updated in real time. I believe it is updated every 12h or something like that.

Ohhhh! Thanks for telling me that!
You could update the view counter yourself by "editing" the story and saving any changes (which can be none) to have it updated. It's a type of cheating, but harmless cheating.
