Because the audience on RR will tear into the slightest of mistakes. SH users are generally more friendly. If you’re not writing smut why wouldn’t you post to RR? Double your audience, same way if you do write smut you should throw it in Ao3 and HF
So what? Some will stay pay, let people mald in the comments all they want.Perhaps
Because the audience on RR will tear into the slightest of mistakes. SH users are generally more friendly.
Yeah, but if they make your ratings crater, you won't be able to get new readers. So what? Some will stay pay, let people mald in the comments all they want.
Those are not sexual tags nor fanservicy tags, so they aren't included. They serve different purposes, regardless of their popularity. Therefore, there was no point in including them in the comparison. You forgot the Harem tag and gender bender, which are deemed just as bad as Ecchi and Smut.
They can make money from both sites. There is a reason the story is popular here too, it's because it has readers. Readers can spend. As simple as that. However, OP wanted to know if stories without Smut made money. The answer is no.
None of the stories you listed without smut make any money from SH. They make their money from RR.
That's exactly what you're doing~In this forum you will only find intellectually dishonest people that will laugh as they give you wrong, fallacious or malicious advice.

And in case you're wondering why I added Action/Adventure to the comparison then, that was simply to show that the whole argument of Smuthub is dumb. There are genres that are way more popular than Smut, and those are the real moneymakers.
People focus on smut because Scribblehub has more smut than RR has, but so what? If you just want to write the most popular things to earn money, then smut is not the thing you should focus at, you should focus on the seriously popular genres that dominate the rankings... Action and Adventure.
They can make money from both sites. There is a reason the story is popular here too, it's because it has readers. Readers can spend. As simple as that.
OP asked about earning money without smut. Not necessarily getting nicer readers easily like SH. So if OP doesn't post his non-smut commercial products to earn money on RR by fear of criticism, then there's indeed a problem of priorities and goals.Yeah, but if they make your ratings crater, you won't be able to get new readers.
I don't know if you are trying to pick a fight or are serious, but you are wrong. Fantasy is the most popular genre on SH, and you can make money without smut. There was a person who gathered statistics on this forum. Smut earns a LOT less than non-smut. And you don't need to post on RR if you don't have smut and want money. It will surely help with exposure and money, but it's not something that is necessary. In this forum you will only find intellectually dishonest people that will laugh as they give you wrong, fallacious or malicious advice.
The real answer is that if you aren't sexualizing something in any way or form within your story, you will never make any money in scribble hub. And you will never be popular unless you are some monster who writes like fifty thousand words a week, and even then you might still fail.
If you refuse to add sexual undertones to your work, the only place you will ever make money writing in a web serial format will be in Royal Road and it will still be hard. There is no such thing as an easy way to become successful. But at least there it might be possible.
Here in SH, you will either write smut/harem/ecchi/gender-bender or you will cope. Do I have any issues with the taste of readers in Scribble Hub? No, I too like my big booba demon waifus and 300 year old lolis. That is why I write here. My views align with that of the readers.
But if that is not for you, forget making a single cent here. Anyone who tells you otherwise is just giving you false hope. Ask them how many readers they got, or how much money they make. When was the last time they updated? then you will soon find out that most of the people giving you advice spend more time in this forum than actually writing.
As do most of the monetized smut writers I've checked. And let me guess, you are crossposting
Correction. People refer to Scribblehub as smuthub, because Royal Road does not allow Smut stories at all.
[Blue core does not have the smut tag, but it has smut in the synopsis.]
Fantasy is Fiction bro, what are you smoking. Unless you believe Fantasy is non-fiction????I don't know if you are trying to pick a fight or are serious, but you are wrong. Fantasy is the most popular genre on SH, and you can make money without smut. There was a person who gathered statistics on this forum. Smut earns a LOT less than non-smut. Ok, I did not read the full synopsis, I fucked up. My bad.As do most of the monetized smut writers I've checked.
So the way I see it, the argument about money from elsewhere could hold in a similar measure.
Blue Core | Royal Road
Read the series on Amazon! Dungeon: A place full of monsters, traps, treasure, and death. Those are the Great Dungeons, with unplumbed depths below the roots of the mountains. That's not for me. Do you have statistics? Because I am referring to an old thread with stats instead of making groundless statements.Smut earns less than Non-Smut outside of Scribble Hub.
But in scribble hub, smut makes the most money. (Because non-smut makes none)
Obviously, they don't spend their time here on forums. They are writing. Just like people who earn from writing smut.Who is making money in Scribble Hub without smut? please tell me who they are because I do not know them. They clearly do not use this forum and they do not use the discord server.
Can you like not embarass yourself further? I am not even trying to humiliate you bro. I am not asking you trick questions either.?
Genre / Fantasy
Definition:Anything that involves, but not limited to, magic, dream world, and fairy tales.
Do you have statistics? Because I am referring to an old thread with stats instead of making groundless statements.

We talk about SH. Fantasy is a genre in SH. Why are you talking about definitions fiction? Can you like not embarass yourself further? I am not even trying to humiliate you bro. I am not asking you trick questions either.
But, like. I am speechless.
Do I really have to explain the definition of fiction to a fellow writer? Please go look up the definition of fiction and chill for a minute.
So, instead of answering me, you decided to insult me. I asked whether you have stats or not; in return, you said I'm stupid and talked condescendingly.I actually bothered to write a proper response to your other points. But your ignorance regarding the word fiction, combined with your comment:
"you don't need to post on RR if you don't have smut and want money."
Made me delete it. It felt like anything I say would be wasted on you. Arrogance has no cure.
They are not.Harem and Gender Bender, ARE tags that enable a sexual fantasy. When people talk about "Smut" they use it a catch-all end-all word to refer to anything that is purpose is to play with the reader's sexual desire. You might find one or two novels that subvert the expectation by playing it wholesome or for comedic purposes, but those are not the norm.
Action and Adventure are meaningful genres. It's why you see people adding them when they make sense.Action/Adventure are not meaningful tags, they are as useful as a hypothetical "Fiction" or "First-Person/Third Person" Tag.
Everyone is going to use them no matter what type of story they are writing. Smut or not Smut.
I guess you're just trolling at this point. If you really think the readers in Scribblehub don't spend their money on the novels they like, then I don't even know what to tell you. This argument makes no sense whatsoever.False. You will not make a single cent if you publish non-smut/harem in Scribble Hub.
Being popular in Scribble Hub, but not popular in RR means that you make no money. No matter if you have +3k Readers here.
All those stories you talk about make their money from cross posting in Royal Road.
What thread are you using for reference? We talk about SH. Fantasy is a genre in SH. Why are you talking about definitions fiction?
So, instead of answering me, you decided to insult me. I asked whether you have stats or not; in return, you said I'm stupid and talked condescendingly.
I won't be able to find those thread, and I don't see a reason to find them. What thread are you using for reference?
I think his point is that you make pennies on this site compared to going somewhere for more exposure from people with heftier wallets. Pretty much just being hyperbolic about not making a cent, it wouldn't make sense to argue no one makes money regardless as to how much that impacts their quality of life. Most readers won't spend money, that's normal. But a certain percentage of readers do spend money. That's true regardless of site. People do spend money on Scribblehub, and the popular novels earn more money than the non-popular ones. It's not rocket science.
then you're not better than fritzer, I have no idea why you wouldn't want to plug it if you wanted to engage in a thread about determining the profitability of writing on this site by genre.I won't be able to find those thread, and I don't see a reason to find them.
I might've looked for it If he had asked for it and didn't insult me. If you look at that dialogue, you will notice that he didn't ask for that thread and immediately resorted to insulting me and diverting the topic.then you're not better than fritzer, I have no idea why you wouldn't want to plug it if you wanted to engage in a thread about determining the profitability of writing on this site by genre.
so smut now refers to any content that mention sexuality. by your definition the most vanilla romance is now considered smut. that is the most retarded thing I've read in a whileGreat, another lie.
