I just turned my off, got a different one, fiddled with the code, turned it on, turned it off, and then back on again and now it works.

No, if you are using an adblocker while using YouTube they don't like it. I got a pop-up saying to either enable YouTube on the adblocker, or turn it off.

chromium is an engine made by google for building browsers. google chrome, opera, brave are all built with chromium. whatever google does to chromium will most likely affect other browsers with chromium.

the only browser i know which is not chromium based is firefox.
