The homophobe picks on the gay guy, something happens and they end up either hanging out and getting closer/being used for sexual gratification that becomes romantic over time/just used for sex and nothing romantic happens/homophobe realises they're actually into guys and is taking out his frustrations on the one that's open about his orientation so it doesn't bring light to himself.
