The most I've done is to cut the hand of my character... and placing them in thriller genre story, I think.
We have @GDLiZy here and she already traumatized her character a fair bit I believe. My char has very bad luck running into trouble every time he leaves town and I don't remember other people who tend to give their char a thrashing

yeah, the character i tortured had to be tortured to be properly insane enough to absorb the god of madness and contain him, then she absorbed the god of order to compensate.

Well, he has to start laying the groundwork, right?

Hmmm... true enough, yes. Well, the next quest I'm planning to do with Till is the escort duty one, with the target being Gelderhold. Or in other words, Till is going to leave soon.
well then, i am a bit out of place lol.
I don't torture my characters for no reason! Don't you know that character is shaped through fire and a hammer? There is beauty in pain! The harder the hammer, the stronger the soul! All the tears and scars are proof of their identity! Strike after strike does the hammer forge us, with extinguished love, friends that had to go, family that died, feelings we had to suppress, things that didn't go our way!
Why poison? Wouldn't deceit suit me more due to the abilities?
Poison is point number 1 on your list of evil!

That was given to me by Platys and collectively agreed upon! It wasn't my decision XD
Thus, you are the evil god of poison.

Well, to be honest, I simply enjoy writing the struggle of my characters over everything going smoothly. No fun in that.
Self-Insert. Basically wish-fulfilment.
*looks at Till and Exal*
Not for me, it seems. Though I do think that there always are parts of my personality in my characters, and with the character development, I discover new things about myself.

Nope, why do you self-insert? You want to make a gem, from the rough material. And the ingredients for that gem is suffering, obviously.
all of my characters have gone through their suffering previously. and yes this does include Niv. she has died, multiple times.

I tend to depict my characters by expressing my inner self. On the other side if you think that way, I'm actually a murderer
