How I went from a "write as you go" kind of gal to an obsessive plot planner

Were you expecting a long guide? Sorry, to disappoint you, but my case is really simple.
I read a really good webnovel (Lord of the Mysteries) and thought, "Oh, I want my novels to have this kind of quality." And then I tried to write one with my (at that time) current writing style. I soon found out that it's literally impossible without deep planning.
So, for the first time in my life, I actually 'created' a believable world and my friend gave me a plot that feeds upon itself. I kept answering every questions I came up with during the worldbuilding and note down every cool idea. I came up with.

Oh, before anyone from my discord server sees this, the project I'm talking about was started by one of my author friends. I'm just the translator and "quality control" so to speak. I also write chapters that he finds to boring to write. Also also in charge of writing the world's lore.

P/S: this is the master docs that contains pretty much every background thingies about the story.

I mainly write futa scene (literally replace man with woman w/ willy) but for yuri scenes, you have to remember that what you would normally consider foreplay IS the sex.
Also kissing :D

So, you were telling me that, by the date you joined this forum, you're gonna try to write a Yuri smut for the first time?

Good on ya. I tried planning, but I ended up not wanting to write. And, if I do want to write, I don't follow the plan anyway. I am smarter today than I was yesterday, and tomorrow, I will be even wiser.

For me it was hitting multiple walls when I tried to push onwards. So now I create a scene by scene outline paired with a broad entire story/arc plot outline.
