I was going to make a writing prompt to give me motivation to write my story

I was going to write a prompt to give me some motivation by seeing others' takes on the prompt, but then half way through writing the prompt, I found the motivation to atleast try to write it. Funny how the world works, isn't it? Also I found this cool punctuation mark which is a mixture of an exclamation and question mark. (‽) It's apparently called an 'interrobang'.

I remember the sweetness of the candy the most. Her eyes as she stared at me behind the counter. The way it lingers on my face, the way her touch would linger on my skin as I hand her the money.

I was only 16 but I knew..

I was only 16 when I experienced the bitterness of heartache. She had to leave and the candy tasted bitter.

I’m 32 now and I can taste its sweetness once again. It only took 16 years.

I look at my sleeping wife and couldn’t help but smile.

“Don’t ever leave again.” I whispered.
