Yeah I'm not a huge fan of that trope either. Mildly overused, but it can still be fun! It's connected to the "I'm being cheeky and talking-back to this God, hahahah I'm so cool. B)" trope, which always makes me think "Bruh, why isn't the MC getting smited into dust and ashes?"

(This is related to stories where the God is more than strong enough to do it with a thought, but refuses to punish the MC's insolence and disrespect.)

One punch man, mob psycho 100, overlord, instant kill.

the first and the last one could literally kill any1 no sweat. every rule is meant to be broken. everything is literally possible in storymaking. you just need to know how.

Can also have power loss, nerf the mc early on. Though I hear from people that readers generally don’t like that very much.

Ah, yeah, that can also work out. I think there are some popular stories like that? I remember there was a webtoon about it that my brother was reading at least... It was a VRMMO webtoon IIRC, but I don't recall its name.
