I've seen and read a lot of books where the main character has a weak spirit or has really bad cultivation and is treated like trash by the entire family.
They are frequently mistreated, but they remain members of the family. I'm looking for books in which the protagonist is kicked out of the family for being a disappointment. They will then grow in power in the future. Something along the lines of Kaze no Stigma.
