When reporting a bad advertisement, please answer the following questions:
  1. What type of device are you using? (Please provide detailed information - are you using desktop/laptop, phone or tablet. If it is phone or tablet, what OS is it running?)
  2. Browser used (e.g. Internet Explorer, Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Opera)
  3. GEO (Your country)
  4. Redirected URL which causes the problem (the URL you get redirected to)
  5. Problem description (Please describe the problem in detail)
To keep this subforum clean, non-reports will be deleted.

On the main page, I've occasionally been redirected to a malware page with a fake Mcafee offer, saying I have a virus (Obviously BS since I don't use Mcafee)

1. I using Windows 10 on PC
2. My browser is Google Chrome, though I tried and it still happened on Firefox
3. I'm in the U.S.
4. https://scan-virus.com/mcafee-safe-...3y-q5bgi4-171ni4-ntirvr-gxqq9l-gxdubz-62b1d0#

5. The redirect happens after waiting for several seconds (Somewhere around 8 to 10) on the main page

[UPDATE] The problem hasn't happened again in the last hour. I did make a post about it hours ago, so someone could've have already taken care of it. But it might be best if someone in staff management check just in case (Only trying to help the site however I can).

Redirected URL is the URL you get redirected to so the homepage (or any page from SH) wouldn't be correct in this case. If you get redirected again, please post the redirected url.
Sorry, fixed now. Though the link has gone dead. Maybe the page finally went down?

5. I was on Novel Updates browsing, took me to that site. May have outright opened a new tab and closed the old one, cuz I couldn't even back up. Happens reliably, too, I think because there were like nine ads at once.

5. Just got a second one as well, different end page though.

Heads up, it might not be fixed. Just happened again two minutes ago.

My virus protection caught the fraudulent page, fortunately

This is the link: https://scan-virus.com/mcafee-safe-browsing/index.php?lpkey=1618365d6891897907&domain=verifiedclick.xyz&language=en-US&t2=mike-lam-1jp3ymre8w&t3={t9}&t4=57&t5=Unknown&clickid=3d318usp2fv46046f&lid=1729&cid=14772&uc=usp2fv460&uclickhash=usp2fv460-usp2fv460-q5bgi4-171ni4-ntirvr-gxqq9l-gxdubz-e45b4c

Sorry to once again be the bearer of bad news. I hate the fact that I'm the one who has to give it

Hello, I opened another ticket wand was told they weren't able to recreate this issue. It could be an ad which is following you around.

Can you try removing it yourself? Try following this: https://malwaretips.com/blogs/remove-positivestar-org/#browser-windows but instead of "https://positivestar.org/", look for "scan-virus.com"

If it's still bugging out for you and you know your way around Chrome a bit, can you generate a HAR file? My ad manager is asking for one as it'll help because they can't seem to recreate the redirecting problem.

Here's how to generate a HAR file on chrome: https://support.google.com/admanager/answer/10358597?hl=en

I'm not sure how to send you the file? Attach files doesn't accept HAR files.

Wow, looking at this thing, it's a total mess. I think I managed to catch NU loading up every single trinket and doodad on the page before the ads popped in, lol.

Can you upload it on any media sharing sites like https://easyupload.io/ ? Then share the link here?

Thanks!

I got a '0 code' error message on that site. Hopefully this one works without problems...

Thanks for taking the time to do this! I really appreciate it! I just sent it to my ad manager so they will take a look at it.

Just curious but do you have McAfee installed? My ad manager also sent me this:

My colleagues tried to replicate every scenario, yet we could not find anything on our side and nothing shows the issue to be related to our ads.
We received reports from other publishers as well about the same pop-ups.

The whole situation has been noted from T-Mobile and McAfee themselves in the following articles:
https://service.mcafee.com/?locale=en-US&articleId=TS102999&page=shell&shell=article-view
https://www.t-mobile.com/brand/data-breach-2021

We suggest installing this Chrome extension to limit the pop-up from appearing for affected users: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/...kkbcggnhapdmkeljlodobbkopceiche/related?hl=en

I thought I had it uninstalled, but I guess there's still remnants, lol.

It's not the only thing that popped up though. I actually got one from ""Bing"" and one from that positestar thing your other post mentioned, from both NU and SH's main page, but I instinctively close things like that when they appear so I didn't get links. There might have been others I didn't see as a result.

I installed that pop-up blocker, so thanks for that. :blob_hug:

Though it doesn't seem like it or uninstalling Mcafee helped, lol.

Everytime an ad loads anywhere on the site I get redirected to a scam ad page, I have to return to scribble hub multiple times before it loads without it.
1. iPhone 11 Pro
2. Google chrome
3. United States
4. http://2022325luckyday.xyz/prize/lu...g_name=iPhone&tablet=2&rheight=0&rwidth=0&e=5
5. Page redirects there whenever the ad loads, and I can’t just hit the “back” button because it’s loading itself repeatedly.

  5. The small popup ad bar at the bottom has been getting gradually more obnoxious over the last couple of days. First they started playing funny games by alternating which side the X appears. Now the X to get rid of it doesn't appear at all half the time, maybe due to a bug introduced by the aforementioned not-at-all subtle attention trick.
If we can't get rid of the ads on a chapter then that leaves a thing that is designed to be attention-grabbing in our faces, grabbing attention and pulling us out of the story that we are trying to enjoy. It's a good way of encouraging people to turn on their adblockers.
