Sci-fi space adventure - does this story pull you in?

So I've released 10 Chapters of my story on here and Royal Road.

When I look at the stats on Royal Road, there have been 260 people who've started reading it.

Of those, ~150 make it to chapter 3. Then basically everyone who reads chapter 3, reads all ten chapters.

Would love your feedback on:

1. What makes chapter 3 so compelling? Is that when the story starts?
2. What do you think I could do to get people hooked from Chapter 1?
