Same! Especially when you check readers and see that you've gained 1 (or more). Gives the warm fuzzies when you realize someone new is enjoying the story.

Weirdly enough I get one heck of a high when I check and see that people are still reading my first story. It’s a long, rambling mess I wrote and posted primarily to prove to myself that nothing bad would happen if I posted something mid on the internet, it’s been nearly a year since I updated it, and people are still coming along and reading it.
Absolutely nothing compares to the dopamine spike of a comment, though. Even a somewhat negative one means they cared enough to say something.
