After doing all the stuff I did last week where I went into the art and craft of opening lines, I felt I'd keep that momentum going this week with how to actually choose an opening scene. This is stuff I used to look for when I did the opening chapter stuff since I found those who could pull this off well often get other aspects of storytelling while those who don't tend to be far more messy throughout. The way someone opens a story can tell you a lot about their competence level. If you're interested in applying craft to be the best writer you can possibly be, I recommend giving this video a watch.
