The meaningless nonsense which holds a placeholder for the modern English text is an interesting landmark of the development of language.

It is, indeed, whispered like a prayer. It is sacrificed to the alter of creativity. It is erased by the user, who covers it with one’s own meaningful contributions.

The gibberish is meant to mimic the language of great orators past, orators who do not speak to us. We have, as a whole, perhaps lost the ability to understand the great Latin writers. Our language, culture, morals are all different. The meaning has been translated, may-chance defiled, chopped up and microwaved and served in a greasy paper box reminiscent of fast food.

Whereas the past fades and loses meaning in the collective consciousness, an alternative reality is crafted by today’s story tellers. The greatest honor is fought for: the right to remain long past relevance. The individual weaves tales using the yarn of letters and words. Colloquial terms and slang phrases encrypt the message until the only one who can successfully interpret the blessed marks is, after all, oneself.

Only the promise of the presence of heart and life and sorrow and joy is left encased in what is once again rendered gibberish.
