Why does the revelation of clues in 12 angry men feel genuine?

One of my greatest hatred toward poor writing was the ass pull trope where important details were kept till the last second without any hinting and it felt so inorganic it killed the immersion and flow of the story. However, I did not feel so while watching 12 angry men when more details of the evidence and witnesses were later brought up and discussed. Why is that? What can we learn from this?

"12 angry men" :blob_hmm:
The only thing I can say is that the name of this movie is very strange.:blob_awkward:

That's a genre thing. A mystery is designed so that you know the outcome from the start, and you need to put together handfed clues and evidence to figure out HOW it happened, or WHY.

The point isn't to see what happens, it's to figure it out.

If you're in another genre on the other hand, you can probably guess what's going to happen. What you're there for is to see how it happens. You want to be part of the action. If something comes out of nowhere, it feels like you weren't part of it, just an outsider observing the result.
