I've seen this come up a few times on NovelUpdates as an ad and I'm not sure if this website is like NovelUpdate or like Wattpad?

Yep! the vast majority of wattpad stories are romance novels. Last I heard, wattpad's most prominent demographic was female teenagers (as both writers and readers).I don’t think it’s on Wattpad level yet since this site still fairly new. Wattpad already has new programs like “Pay-per-chapter” similar to Qidian thing. But honestly I prefer Scribble as it’s easier on the eyes to navigate. In the end both sites give different genres. All I could find on Wattpad are female lead stories lol
Agree!I would say no to an extent. ScribbleHub seems more connected with it's readers and more open. Wattpad feels more like a library, while ScribbleHub would be a hub of books and authors. (I can't think of any good similes.)
You get the point. I found out it's quite hard to get "reads" on wattpad for new authors.Yep! the vast majority of wattpad stories are romance novels. Last I heard, wattpad's most prominent demographic was female teenagers (as both writers and readers).
The biggest drawback of wattpad is their content restrictions. The only way you can get new readers in the platform itself is by having your story show up in the readers' suggestions. However, if you flag your story as containing mature content of any kind, wattpad essentially hides your story. Your story won't be suggested anywhere, so the only way it'll be seen is if a reader browses your writing list.
Wattpad tries to be a family-friendly platform, so anything from cursing to too much violence to sexual content is flagged as mature content and buried. Your readers aren't even allowed to curse lol, using the word 'fuck' automatically flags and hides their comment to anyone but the author.
If your character has a potty mouth? Mature content.
I really like that scribblehub is pretty much NU for original stories. I'll be able to post [censored] porn story extras here, so thanks Tony!!!
Yes and no; both sites are under the genre of writing sites but Scribble Hub and Wattpad have separate algorithms. And while both sites are open for creative use, each site has different clarifications on publication warnings, and since Scribble Hub is a much smaller site it goes through a much more harsh moderation system; Scribble Hub has a process of approval for stories, covers, and chapters from what I am aware of.
Wattpad also allows "novels" that are actually meeting places for roleplays and fanfiction. I'm not aware on the usage of both on Scribble Hub, but I have not seen it yet. Scribble is also a site by authors and readers for authors and readers, I feel as if (if not wonky) it has a much more efficient user interface. Wattpad also has declined in their search system over the years -- not allowing you to search what you actually want, as well as having a sponsor priority on their novels.
