I still dont get the need for fooling nobles in any possible way, it implies that nobles are not at the top of the chain but secret orgs are. Secret orgs is good and all, at some point the amount of nobles is too big to remain silent.

Now if the mission is nothing serious or life-threatening, well why lie? And if that is not the case, well,

Can you imagine the possibility of Grogar flipping the shit out? All it takes for that is Gawr and Gwen getting harmed or dying because of deception and thus being fooled into a suicidal mission by a basically traitorous org. He is a duke - one who got his stuff done by wars and is thus more than capable of starting a rebellion or sending the whole org to gallows.

The orgs work for nobility and royalty, not the other way round.
Er...you.might have misread.

The fooling comes from @Bochi boy's 2 characters, Kaede and Kanon. No organisation was in on the fooling- for one, Eochaidh and the League of Valour are literalky on the same page as the Noble Houses in terms of intel. Eochaidh literally was appointed by them to organise the scouting mission.

I'm personally leaning more towards the idea that this was pitched as a training mission / military exercise.

It's still an important mission, but the nobles thought it was a relatively safe mission and okay to send the youngsters (Audriana/Sven/Dew) even though they're still students. Eochaidh was appointed as the leader, but also mainly to serve as a mentor to help these young nobles gain battle experience in a real mission (potentially their first mission).

Nobles being nobles, they brought like 10 suitcases and extra airships so that they could camp in luxury.

Eochaidh and the nobles were deceived into thinking it was a relatively safe mission.

As for who deceived them? No clue. Somehow Kaede recruited Eochaidh into running this operation.

That could make sense! Although if that was the case, shouldn't the nobles have abstained from participating until after the scouting intel came back? It's rather strange for the nobles to insist on going on the scouting party, and a lot of the noble factions seem underprepared for a conventional frontal assault (i.e. Audriana, Sven, and even the Getandmark ships arrived unarmed -- most of the other nobles arrived without airships or military escort / foot soldiers, which is sort of criminally underprepared for a conventional battle -- yet oversupplied for a scouting mission -- it really does seem like all the nobles came for a leisurely "camping trip" lol).

I was also under the impression the @Bochi intended to do the final bombardment with Kanon by herself, unless the intention was for Kanon come with an entire fleet with even more nobles(?)
I'm going with the angle that the camping trip vibes was just the nobles deciding to send people they can trust to be present from mission's start to conclusion as a token gesture of commitment, a well as verify any findings by being present physically during the briefing and debriefing.

Nothing is afoot? Well, they didn't look like a fool since they didn't send too many forces to the farce, and they can laugh about it being a fun summer camp for the kids.

Shit IS afoot? Recall non-essential participants of the 'Noble's Summercamp', to return and verify the new intel, while the few combatants hold the camp, waiting for the coalition to make their way over.

Simply, put, no one expectes @Bochi to be an asshole of a writer and sicc an eldritch island thing on them during this phase.

In the case of the young nobles this sounds like a really good reasoning. Nothing beats experience, afterall.

Eochaidh was recruited by the League of Valour, technically no one duped the nobles and the league. What did happen was Kaede hiding seriously important intel that would have seriously affected their next move. Eochaidh would have definitely vouched for Kaede if he was told, though it might have resulted in an extra round of politicing...

I think token gesture idea works well, it lines up well with the obligation/duty idea while also working with the problem that this is not their own island.

As for Bochi pulling weird stuff, well that is the fun part ~

We can also have everyone arriving here by coincidence - Sven coz of Academy, Gawr coz he just wanted to get away from the brothel incident and thus the urban areas for a while, Gwen and Dew came coz well something? (Honestly invent some shit related to magic aca)

The third one is the obvious mind control by the cult leader and a conspiracy to eliminate next gen of nobles of the islands (which works, but like we just had a full blown isekai about like a month ago - cultists have no chill)

@Bochi is definitely going to Urobutcher the scouting party. :blob_happy:

Even still, one does not send kiddos on scouting parties if the threat level assessment is "genuinely dangerous".

If I was a parent, I would not send my kids with Kaede. Sounds like a really really bad idea. :sweating_profusely:

Even if I brought my kids to the staging ground, they would be here to watch and not take part in a high-risk scouting party (likely with a high fatality rate). If the area was confirmed to be relatively safe, I might bring them along on during the main assault raid that comes later -- but only with the comfortable security of an entire army when the environmental obstacles/traps are already known and assessed by scouts.

Well, I was unde the impression that only the really combat-capcables are joining and not jus lounging around on the base island. Audriana would have stayed back in any situation because she has not enough time to become isekai cheater yet, while Gawrgaru is probably one of the strongest here as a whole so no one would object to his participation.

Gwendolyn has an appearance in my treatise on greatsword, and assuming we follow the headcannon of everyone in the house being super promoted fire emblem-level armour units she'll be fine. I dunno much about Sven, can't speak for him.

I really have no idea why the everliving fuck would Audriana go in any mission a an actual participant without combat capability, though...though maybe this incident would motivate he to become an isekai cheater?

Um, @Way if we do a brief head count, at this rate there's so many kiddos coming on Kaede's airship:
  • Ddraig: Sven / Roxia - Coming (Kiddo)
  • Fyrre: Audriana / Lysander / Gwen - All coming (I think... and they're kiddos)
  • Nahrenne: Anya - Maybe coming(?) Although she can fly and already demonstrated she can fly to Cimon's Hollow without anti-air fire
  • Reborn Cat: Dew - Declined
  • Ohko: Gawrgaru and Sir Ames - Flying with Shark fleet / Gawrgaru is sky diving
  • TEU: Ascalio and Fiora - It sounds like they are coming... and Fiora is baby......

I'm a little lost, tbh.

It's fine, it's super messy and I'm basically finding rationalisations of the situation at hand.

I was considering asking Haxa for a summary of what the league and the nobles actually saw from their perspective, but at this point we have half a headcanon ready to be canonised...
