I see the second as one of the most fascinating novels I know, I think it wonderfully shows what it means to exist and how history functions and the beauty and horror of life.
I absolutely recommend it but there will be actually something of a couple but it's going to be extremely unimportant.

If we count all types of media, I absolutely adore Yu and Kay from the videogame Haven.

I also like very much the chemistry between Temeraire and Laurence --even though they are not a couple-- from the His Majesty's Dragon and its sequels.

Julius and Marcy from Nice Dragons Finish Last (Heartstriker series).

And... huh. Now that I have given it some focused thought, I seemingly cannot find more examples. I can talk at length about favorite individuals, or love stories, but not specifically about couples that are featured in said stories.

Probably because in the media I've been familiar with hardly ever any romance is resolved before the end of the story; hence, I can't see enough interaction between already-coupled characters to form an opinion whether I like the couple in question or not.
