It was useless. This way wouldn't work. The slime horde was there, taking their time eroding their defense. She had to fight, rather than keeping herself back.
The rumor of the blue slime being the leader was still there, but everyone started to no longer believe on them. How many blue slime had been killed? Yet, the slime horde never lose their unity. They still move in one direction; to the city.
She had a plan. It would be suicidal of her to do so, and she need someone to look at the battlefield, to see if they lose their single-mindedness. Though, it was not much of a plan, since she knew that
even if the true blue slime were defeated, they still end up with the horde in front of them. Some of them were already in the city.
Swooping down from above, she began to target the blue slimes. She went on the low altitude, close to the ground and snatch the blue slimes. Then, she rise above while holding it, trying to kill it as fast as possible using her ice claw.
On her third try, the slime around the third body-slammed her as they jump to her. They began to be more aware of it. The body slam they did successfully cut her hand that was grasping the blue slime, and she lose the connection against the water in her hand. Even if her hand had been made alkaline in nature, they keep charging.
She returned to above, replacing the mass on her hand to the one in the subspace.
This did not work either. She needed a better plan, but what?
Making a longsword with her left hand, she swoop down once again. She would try to hit them in one hit. Pierce it, take the longsword with her, and then return above.
The third fell as she pierced its core. but not before the slime around her broke her longsword as she tried to lift it. The slime's body slam hit it, and her connection to the broken part of the sword severed. In normal situation, she would be reconnecting the broken sword with a tendril of water, establishing her connection. But, the attack from the slimes threatened to shave more of her body. Thus, she let the broken part remained and fly away.
Still, she made another. It was the best plan she had.
The fourth, the fifth, the sixth. Each of the blue slimes' core were pierced. one moment, she saw the moment
when she only cut the membrane and did not pierce it, another slime subsumed it and become the new blue slime. Thus, she targeted the core again and again. Each time she attacked, the slime around the blue one seem to learn. They diverted her strike, and then it would just hit the membrane. It was hard fighting the seventh. Seeing that she had to reform the blade three times, not to mention she only had half her reserve at this point. She felt that
each of them learned when their brethren was defeated, and strategize against it. It was like they have one mind.
If they could connect to other slime, what prevented them from connecting from each other and share the information?
