It's not gender bender. The boy lost his baby tooth. Having a fairy exchange baby tooth into coins is an important ritual in this world. The boy wasn't supposed to meet the fairy because he should be magically asleep. Now the fairy vanished with his tooth and left no coins.

Hellossu! Thank you for answering!! Understood. I will see what I can do about this. Err... I'm not sure about this. That's not how I remember what passive voice is. Anyway, I agree that using "to be" seems bad. But here, the character is stating facts. I don't think there's many ways to stat...
