Was pretty cool actually. Got a break between the clouds right at the peak, complete eclipse. Turning high noon into dusk for about 5 min, with a black sun high between the sky. I can really see how that would freak the Mayans out

Was boring. I watched it on live stream and there were neither eldritch abominations raining terror on the planet, nor did the moon turn into an alien ship ready to invade Earth. Not even a giant eyeball alien looking down on us in spite... The European one in 1999 was better. At least there was the whole "The world is ending! The end is nigh!" vibe going...
