Well, the trending area in SH tends to show cover pictures of fetishes. Big boobs, big butts, lolis, tight fitting clothes, maids, cat girls, BDSM, etc.. Not to mention, Xenomorph fetish actually have a very strong following.

It is understandable. Sex sells.

What I see in trending now only show one barmaid with big boobs and one loli cat girl and the rest are kinda generic and modest . . . very unlike the usual. The xenomorphs also disappeared. SH must have done something.

The trending list alternates between the daily and the weekly trending list. Tommorow, the xenomorphs and other weekly trending books will be back. It's this list: Weekly Trending List. As of right now, it looks like one of the xenomorph books left the list

It depends on the interest of the readers, and that is never constant, so you will find the trending list changing all the time. And by the way, SH has a trending schedule every other day or something if I'm not mistaken.....

Oh! Didn't know that. I almost never bother with Trending actually. I find it useless.

Stories in Trending are not meant to stay there very long. While individual stories doesn't stay very long, certain kind of stories (and covers) that tend to appear there. Not surprising. Sex sells. It is quite obvious that many SH users like stories that have girls (scantily clad) with big breast (prominently displayed) and/or lolis in their covers.

Again, it depends on the readers. There have been times when novels that don't have sexual content reach trending, and there were a few times I found top 10 in trending having no sexual content at all. However, your statement is certainly valid as sexual content is popular on this site.

I was saying something about the covers being sexual not the content.

Well, there are around 2-3 out of every 10 novels currently in trending that have some sexual cover. This isn't a lot, it's actually very little, so while it does exist, it isn't that common.

Well, 10 out of the first 25 covers in the weekly trending has some sexual covers (I looked at the listing not the front page), that is, women in provocative clothing and pose. The daily has 9 out of 25. I didn't count ones that are oriented toward females or gays that may not be appreciated by straight guys.

If you only count those first nine that would appear in the front page. The weekly list would show 5 while the daily would show 3.

Ok, well, authors make clickbait covers for their novels to gain more views, so this is understandable. My question is what is the problem? This site is already filled to the brim with sexual content, so if the covers are also sexual, would it matter much?
(P.S. I counted the novels which have covers on daily trending first 25 novels. The novels whose covers I found to be sexual are #9, #15, others I don't find to have much sexual content or nudity displayed on the cover)

Nothing. No problem at all. No one said it was a problem. It was just an observation.

Hmmm. #5 is one. Not very overt but the clothes is really tightly fitting with a strong emphasis on the breast. #8 is a loli with the back somewhat bared. #10 with the clothes that bares the shoulder, hints of her generous breast and the suggestive pose. #12 is another loli in a rather compromising position and costume that is a quite popular fetish (not to mention it is an ecchi story). I don't know why you didn't see #17. The other girls are not that overt but that girl on the top left is quite obvious. #19 is oriented to gays so I didn't count it. #24 is another obvious one. I mean, see that cleavage? Finally #25 the pose, the very large breast, peaking panty, stockings/hose . . . like seriously, how did you miss all those stuff?

Mate, this stuff can't be called sexual. #5 isn't sexual....tight fitting, is it? Would you call a woman who is wearing gym clothes to go run, sexual? You serious? #8 is a cartoon character that is....childish, the loli could fit in a book for kids. #10 has bare shoulders? So if there is a dress that shows shoulders....is that sexual? I think we are exaggerating here. #12's loli can go on cartoon network with bugs bunny, and that is sexual? #17 is a harem with a bunch of girls, where is the nudity and the actual sexual content? The picture could fit in a japanese novel that has a dense beta mc with an R12 rating. #24 wouldn't even be taken down from youtube.....it's a girl in a tanktop....I've seen them IRL before, what is sexual about it? #25 is a curvy milf and while the peeking panties is there, I have to say it can't be classified as sexual because she is fully clothed. Bruh, this stuff can go on youtube without being demonitised, and it's sexual?

There’s a extremely famous term in Japan that may end this entire argument: Fanservice. That’s the concept being applied to the covers. People judge books by their covers. Heck, we judge many things by the cover. The book cover usually appeals to the Author’s intended audience. It’s how you tell the difference between an Ecchi like DxD and a show like Shield hero

I think you are not very familiar about how these things go. Most of these are kinda hidden.

#5 is the most subtle of my list. You can probably see it at how she was posed that thrust her breast out and her damaged clothe that partially show her breast. And yes tight fitting clothes are sexual. Just because modern women are more comfortable at being sexual and these sexual clothing become common doesn't meant they aren't. That is why those kind of clothes are popular in the first place. #8 . . . not if you make that girl bare skin (like baring the back) and placing them into a provocative pose. #10 could be but it the combination of things. #10 is practically a picture of a sucubus . . . you know those demons that . . . and if you consider a clothe that only cover the front of her breast as not sexual. #12 . . . did you know that Lola Bunny was designed to be sexual, well, at least initially? They tempered the sexual part because of the criticism but the sexy Lola still remains popular because of course. And if you think looney tunes and sexual can't go together, here is a very overt example

Also, just think of the pose. A girl on her back with her legs up in the air. Sounds familiar to you? Not to mention the carrots. If you don't get what I mean. I could explain it to you. Could you really believe a book for kids would pose their character as suggestive as that? #17, okay you are just not making sense. Sexual doesn't mean nudity or sex. Come on. #24 you are still using the same excuse. Do you want the girl to be wearing nothing before it is remotely sexual? #25, Oh! You are just so into your excuses! And when did sexual means not fully clothed? And when did sexual means pornographic? Like seriously, you are not making any sense.

I guess he would say that fan service is not sexual.

Mate, I think you're exaggerating because you're using the word sexual to define anything you find provocative. The idea is, if a girl passes by me on the street wearing a tanktop, am I going to describe her as sexual? If a kid saw her wearing a tanktop like in #24, is that ok? or is it too sexual? I don't understand the logic of where you draw the line between what is sexual and what isn't? Is it the pose? Or is it the pantyhose? I'm not saying there are no sexual covers for books, because they definitely exist. I'm just saying it isn't to this degree.

A tank top is supposed to be sexual so yes. Its sexuality is one of its appeal. Just because it is common doesn't mean it is not sexual. Just imagine if it is okay for women to be nude, did nudity suddenly stop being sexual? Of course not. We just become accepting towards it. With #24 it is not just the clothing but the pose. Seriously, this is the classic push-your-chest-out-to-ephasize-your-tits pose. It is tame compared to a lot of other poses but that doesn't mean it is not sexual.

And because you are making those questions I ask a question myself, do you know what sexual means? I mean, a picture of a girl with big tits in a suggestive pose (pushing here tits up and looking suggestively at you) where here panty showing (because she is pushing up the hem) and wearing nothing bellow but a stocking isn't sexual to you, then what is it you considered sexual? It is like you are one those dense japanese MC's.
