I do see the merit in this. But it might mean you have to end every chapter with some sort of cliffhanger, or creating some incentives for your reader to wait patiently for the next chap.
Yeah, that is how most of them succeed.

Write to market. It doesn't matter how objectively good your story, characters, and prose are if you aren't writing the content that the general SH reading public is interested in reading.
This isn't wrong. LOL. My LitRPG story is doing much better than my portal fantasy and episodic humor story.

(None are trending, but point remains. Lol.)

I found out that, I climbed in rank on my novel's tags as I continue to publish 1 chapter everyday, reply to comments, and generally receive more views/readers/favorites.

It's a game of numbers. Increase the statistics and you'll eventually get there.
