What to do with my ever increasing hate on silent readers

As per the title says, Not receiving any comments or barely one or two Nor the response by the favouriting the chapters except that two star rating I received in five minutes after posting my novel with barely two chaps in and 2k words...

Want to know how to make those readers comment and tell me what or how am I doing In the writing of my chaps

Any tips, advice you want to tell, would be welcome

*whisper know any effective threat I can use against those readers?

There is almost nothing you can do. I made a whole technical chapter to ask readers if I should discontinue or continue the story. That chapter had around 400 hundred views and 20 comments. It made around 5-10 silent readers comment. Once. They didn't continue commenting.

The only way to get more comments is to crosspost to different sites and write an engaging story. No cutting corners here. Also, I don't know if it's true, but some people here say that readers don't like to comment on smut novels, so there is that as well.

Well, I am sorry to say, most of the readers you will get are silent. And you should be happy if you get even 1 that speaks. And even that one might go silent later on. :sweating_profusely: Same with rating ratios and such. 1k readers with only 60 ratings in some novels.

The only way to get them to speak is by asking stuff. Or by you know interacting with them with polls and other stuff. I try to respond to every comment because readers like engagement.:blob_melt:

While many more readers like to vote in chapter polls
Very true~:blob_happy:

The pain of being a smut writer...
Even though the story has plot before "The Plot" They don't comment. It's kinda frustrating even after checking every hour all I got to see is empty comments, It ruins the fun of writing

Have to continue writing in hoping after one month there might be one reader who will say "Thanks for the chapter"
I have a poll for changing the cover of my story, sixty people have read the chapter with the poll, only seven votes have been cast. It's not even about he comments I just want them to click a single button. But they won't.
Let's start a crusade against those silent readers I would say... Let's do it

Just as a sidenote, readers do need an account to vote in polls so 'guest' readers who aren't signed up on SH can create views but not poll responses =/

Now I'm considering starting a general quiz at the last of my chap 🤔

Or even writing "I dare you to comment on this chap" Before "Only 1 out of 100 people able to survive this dare"

Is because many authors don't answer to comments, and even some that do, sometimes disagree with readers in certains points. So why bother commenting something that was high possibility of achieving nothing. Also is not as if i am that good in explaining my points.

If you're writing to get praise that's incredibly sad. Share your story regularly and comments will come. Some will say 'thx4chap', others will say 'wtf is this shit?'.
Patience!

Should write a disclaimer of a very responsive author here? Sounds fun...
Imma do it

Try to make mistake or something that unlikeable for general public on your work
like mc doing stupid thing.

People start gonna start questioning your plot
or start trashing

Congrats! you got a lot comments.
It works for me atleast..

Not the praise but a single response. Doesn't matter if it's bad or good. Praising or shitting excluding the abuse obviously. I ain't no masochist!

A mastermind indeed...
I write because that in itself is fun, everything else is an extra... You shouldn't worry too much about it, and just do your thing, if they want to say something they will, better than attempting to force something.
You have my respect

This is why I am not really onto writing. There's just silent and I don't know what to feel with my work. Sighs.

I don't know any magical technique to make your readers active. From reading experience, the only way to do it is to git gut and write super well-planned out chapters with no fillers and a ton of room for suspence and reader speculation.
You can also maybe try creating false accounts pretending to be readers to make people believe that your community is very active and they might be swept under the atmosphere but that is something I can only speculate to have seen on some commercialised sites and is probably not the best idea.
