What form should it materialize in the story? Or how would it appear if the tag is used?

Is it like an analysis, where the idea is laid bare in front of reader? Maybe a character embody a philosophy or a straight up yin and yang showing two sides of something?

For what it's worth, it's a tag that has MASSIVE leeways for what can be considered philosophical. It's mostly used by authors who have a lot of ideas they consider "high brow abstract" while high from licking their own assholes, like me.

If you ask me, if your story wishes to pose a question towards the human condition, or any questions regarding behaviour or psyche or hell, even S O C I E T Y BOTTOM TEXT it's suitable for a philosophy tag.

Philosophical tag can be used for any work where the MC analyses the reality metaphorically. A philosophical work usually switches between 3rd person and 1st person to show the readers the contrast.
