Just a quick Q/A: How to prevent forum post reply Merge?

It's not significant to most but it bugs the hell out of me. How do I prevent replies in the same thread from merging?
I don't see the option to separate it.

What I do is bug someone on their profile to reply to that thread to save me from post merging. It usually works.

Five minutes doesn't work. I think it's 24 hours for a merge to stop. Only community games doesn't have post merge.

8 hours is a pretty safe bet, I was posting puns before and after work on pun thread and it didn't merge.

Think I pushed as close as 3 hours, once but may have been a server time reset.

I think it's when the clock crosses midnight or something along those lines.

Enlightening, but waiting even ten minutes to prevent a merge is too much work. If it merges, it merges. I'm not the one who made those settings and features.
