Multiverse is a tag that refers to fan fictions when incorporating different fandoms.
Omegaverse is the tag that is used for original stories.

Omegaverse is a specific branch of erotic speculative fiction that separates people into 'Alpha', 'beta', and 'omega' categories, and there are certain additional rules involved; I don't write that sort of thing and don't know the details.

Multiverse, to me, would represent crossover works.

I didn't know that. Is it related to werewolf stories?

Multiverse is typically when multiple different settings, i.e. different universes are put together into the same setting of the story.
I suppose a possible example could be that anime where they crossed over characters from KonoSuba, Overlord, and some other isekais.

Omegaverse - also known as ABO-verse - is a setting where everyone has a secondary gender labelled as: Alpha, Beta, Omega
It isn't restricted to being BL, and it doesn't have to involve anything sexual.
It can be GB, it can be GL, or BL, it's up to the writer.
As for what these secondary genders pertain to, it's extra biological traits other than male and female.
It originated from BL werewolf stories but has expanded into something far more.

You can technically have both tags for a story if it includes the aspects of both. However, the two tags have nothing to do with one another other than that they are a -verse.

Oh goodness, those couldn't be anymore different. Multiverse is when a story incorporates multiple universe, and omega verse is... Well, it's gay porn. Just straight up a very specific subgenre of gay porn.

Hope that helps!

O.O

Yes. Yes there is.

One is a generic concept.
The other makes you a freak.
The real gay porn is the friends we made along the way!
