Patreon is under a lot of pressure to increase revenue. They got a lot of investor capitol and are expected to return 4x the investor seed money. So this means that it getting a reputation as a porn site is a huge threat. That is why they are so reactive to reports.

Kofi and subscribe star are alternatives, but realisticly patreon is the only viable game in town and they know it.

I'm not even a damn smut author, I only write a bit of smut in the sidelines of some of my novels, like 1 or 2 smut chapters between 100 normal chapters. Yet Patreon's mental retardation with their new guidelines is reaching new lows.
I just uploaded a chapter where adults that consented had sex, and I got a warning that such a thing might be violating their community guidelines!
I mean, what else can we do now? Even fictional characters are somehow violating guidelines? non-existent, fantasy entities that are not even drawn in a picture, they're just words mesh together!
The crazy part is that there weren't any underage characters or any weird fetishes, it was just smut. Can you believe it? Is the word cock and pussy banned now?
It's insane how even Patreon is turning their backs on their own communities.
And its even more insane that it feels like webnovel.com is the only last bastion of serialized novels where you can earn money writing smut lol, and the worst part is that I dont write main smut!
So I shouldn't really be affected, but I am because I just want my characters to have a mature relationships?
Has any other author been in a similar position to me? Someone affected by patreon yet?

You just need to be checked as an R-18 Patreon Creator. I write and upload Smut without any problems. However, you need to confirm that you are over 18 by using a legal document. Their content guidelines allow all types of authors.

That's peculiar. Perhaps Patreon's checking system bugged and didn't register you as an R-18 Patreon? If you continue having these problems, I recommend you join the Patreon Discord and ask around the moderators or the channels they have to ask these types of questions. The discord is the fastest way to get human assistance and not a freaking bot answering your questions, ahahaha.
