I did what now? No, no. There must have been a body snatcher involved in this scenario.

For a first date, I'll buy my own coffee. After that, I cook for him. If he wants to take me somewhere expensive, that's his bill. If he's craving steak, my husband can pick up a few pounds of that and make a big batch so my parents and my kid(s) can have some, too. I've never had a boyfriend demand steak, though. Our go-to is enchiladas when we have company. For vegans, there's Thai peanut sauce or red lentil soup.

If we want to have some one-on-one time without spending a fortune, that's what picnics are for. One of my most memorable date meals was when my date brought ingredients for sushi, and we had a make-your-own sushi picnic.

The question has a "you brought em here" so I would pay up. I mean what kind of person brings another to a fancy restaurant on purpose and not pay the bill?
