Translated books rules

Guys, there is a book and it is a very known public domain storys, I want to translate It and post on this website. What are the rules for that ?

which is the original language? If it's asian then you can put it on novelupdates (SH can be the hoster but the TL won't appear in any rankings or update list on the main page)

So there is this book which is a known public domain book written like 500 years ago . I want to translate and publish here what are the rules on that?
