I made a very rough character design, a personal project.

But it has been 2 months since I started working on this and progress is going slowly...

I hate shading hair. There are so many things to do... shade from main lighting, shade from self-cast shadow, ambient occlusion, sheen, highlight, transparency at the end of hair strand, and outline color. It's very repetitive, so I've been stuck on the hair part for a whole month.

Some day I only paint one layer of 1 hair strand and play games after that...

I'm making this post to get feedback and seek validation to motivate myself.

Sorry and thank you for your time.

On one hand, its far from perfect...
On the other hand, eny mortal must be imperfect to be able to improve.

thank you not a vampire "vampire" person.
@Anon2024 this you? :blob_hmm_two: 😲

Jokes aside, quite nice! I enjoy the color scheme, which is not oft-used. The style of the mismatched leggings with the half-off, stylized sweater and the villainess conqueror aesthetic of the shirt of the dress is quite nice! Surprisingly high skirt, but it is a great pleasure that the body language and the focus of the drawing does not make draw attention to that at all. It is not sexual or exaggerated cuteness at all, which is nice! The razor tips of the bow fits!

The face seems a bit too faded out for the facial portrait, but honestly, I don't know enough about coloring. So feel free to ignore it. And for a personal note to end it off with, the kitten mouth and button nose doesn't fit with all of that awesome personality in the rough full-body portraits. Perhaps you should try a very rough, but more realistic, depiction of her in the extremis of emotion, like agony? What reactions fit her?
Because I often see more basic anime (though there is a small amount of animes that actually do it well) that, because there is no stress on actually developing or putting their female characters into important emotional scenes, poorly depict women in pain with this peculiar scream. It's hella weird. If you put that drawing of a woman's scream of pain in a porno, and it looks sexual, you did something wrong. Anyway, I guess what I mean is, put your character through the pain of losing an arm, and draw how they look. It could help!

You got this though! I believe in you! Detailed portraits are always worth it in the end!

It will be a live2d rigged so the mouth shape will be fixed during rigging or before. I totally agreed with this. maybe I'll pur a temporary mouth in later.

And nose... 🤔 I really know what I'm doing lmao. There a limit that it has to be symmetrical.

The face seems a bit too faded out for the facial portrait, but honestly, I don't know enough about coloring.
For this part I felt like the hair color overwhelms the eyes so I'll have to finish painting glossiness on the hair first before readjusting the color.

For eye colors I have to tone the saturation down because the character might look like a vampire or demon which isn't a case from the concept.

The initial color is based on this best boi here. It's a side complimentary color that really embodies death and danger, I really like them.

God I hate hair. There are back hair parts but I'll have to do something else.

What I did here I decided to reduce shading to 2 layers (combine cast shadow and ambient occlusion together) because I'm too lazy to do that to the whole character.

Mostly I try changing colors within same hues as the palette. I'm trying to make color more coherent while making contrast with red hue here and there.

Most likely have to render eye again after finish shading metallic parts.
